With a similar appearance to that of a panettone, Easter Pizza is a dessert of ancient origins that is prepared in the Abruzzo region during the Easter period.

Ingredients for 3 pizzas: 

  • 500 grams of flour
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 100 ml of milk (warm)
  • 100 gr of seed oil
  • 1 small glass of limoncello or anise

 For the leavening: 

  • 10 gr of brewer’s yeast
  • 200 gr of flour
  • 120 ml of water

Preparation:

Let’s start with the leavening. Take a bowl and put the flour in it together with the brewer’s yeast dissolved shortly before in hot water, mix and let it rest for about an hour and a half.
Once rested, add the lukewarm milk, oil, eggs, sugar, the chosen liqueur and finally the flour to the leavening. Work energetically until the dough is smooth and homogeneous and let it rest overnight.
The next morning take the dough and knead it again and then divide it into 3 parts, each weighing 600 grams and let it rest for three / four hours.
Bake for 40-45 minutes in a preheated oven at a temperature of 160 °.
