Less than an hour’s drive from Tortoreto, you arrive at the Salinello Gorges Nature Reserve, a protected nature reserve of rare beauty, characterized by unspoiled landscapes, natural caves, waterfalls, streams and small natural oases, the reserve is the ideal place where to spend a day dedicated to hiking and adventure. You can choose between green itineraries that run along mountain paths characterized by the presence of important Hermitages and natural beauties such as holm oak and hazelnut trees, some of them we remember are suitable only for expert hikers, or for lovers of fresh the itineraries that lead to the mouth of the river, in particular the one that leads to the spectacular waterfall called “Lu Caccheme”. Along the way it is possible to admire and stop in small natural rocky oases, where the river flows gently and time seems to never pass, where you can enjoy a moment of relaxation and a bath in the regenerating waters of the river.

Continuing towards Prati di Tivo or Pietracamela you arrive in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park where it is possible to follow the numerous paths (on foot, by bike or on horseback) for a journey into nature that will leave you breathless , among wonderful panoramas, woods and clearings… the ideal place to relax and contemplate the beauty of our mountains.
