ViviTortoreto

Tortoreto is the first Abruzzo municipality to be awarded the Lilac Flag for the most welcoming municipalities to those with disabilities of all kinds.

Born in 2012, the “Lilac Flag” project aims to encourage tourism by people with disabilities, supporting and rewarding those Municipalities that pay particular attention to the needs and requirements of this tourist target.

The recognition is awarded by analyzing several factors including:

• The usability of the beaches and common areas such as playgrounds, picnic areas, green areas, etc.
• The removal of architectural barriers
• The number of parking spaces and stalls reserved for the disabled
• Dedicated tourist reception services
• An accessible institutional website
• Accessibility of public transport
